Myrtle Residence

The client brief was challenging - to deliver a home of Edwardian appearance on a site with limited frontage. This suggested the most appropriate response was for a design of modest proportions, yet the clients required a large home for a growing family which would be suitable for the next 10-12 years. The solution was to propose a single storey/attic program. This response provided a traditional Edwardian presentation in terms of appearance, while at the same time provided enough space to meet the client accommodation requirements. The inclusion of large-sized bedrooms plus a children's retreat in the upper level resolved the issue of having only one living area, and ensured the desired lifespan of the residence was achieved.
