DEVELOPMENTS - Brighton East Development
The key challenge for this project was that the brief could produce a bulky over-development of the site. In addition, the brief was at odds with the councilıs local design guidelines, which prohibited side-by-side developments on sites less than 20 meters wide.

After consideration of the brief, site constraints and councilıs design controls, the solution was to propose a two-storey and basement program, which incorporated a highly articulated façade design.

The design solution of creating a basement level, resolved the bulk
and over-development issues, whilst still providing large living, services, bedroom and carparking areas.

The articulation of the built form, created by the use of different materials, finishes and wall alignments, responds directly to reducing the visual impact of the development.

The design represents an outstanding level of achievement in the use of space, articulation of built form and materials, and the fluid horizontal and vertical spatial relationships between all areas.
